Teaching Assistant – INSY 661

Job Duties:

  1. Assist in developing and organizing course materials, including lecture notes and assignments.

  2. Provide in-class support, including answering student questions and facilitating discussions.

  3. Deliver guest lectures or substitute for the instructor when needed.

  4. Conduct office hours to offer guidance and clarify course concepts for students.

  5. Oversee and coordinate the grading of assignments, exams, and projects.

Requirements:

  1. Must be a current McGill graduate student with relevant academic background.

  2. Strong understanding of database and distributed systems concepts.

  3. Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging students.

  4. Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with the course instructor.

  5. Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or academic support is an asset.

Qualifications:

  1. Enrollment in a graduate program at McGill University.

  2. Academic background in information systems, data analytics, or a related field.

  3. Experience with database management, distributed systems, and analytics tools.

  4. Familiarity with grading and academic evaluation processes.

Average Salary:

The hourly wage for this position is $36.25 per hour for a total of 80 hours per term.
