Job Summary:
Our Pet Stylist in Training roles are designed for energetic individuals who would love to engage with pet parents and their pets, offering positive experiences and excellent salon services. This role offers guidance and training from our skilled Professional Styling teams, allowing you to learn industry-standard grooming techniques. Upholding the company’s values, mission, vision, and strategy is integral to this role, as well as maintaining cleanliness and enforcing pet safety standards.
The Pet Stylist in Training role commences upon the successful completion of PetSmart Grooming Academy.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities might vary depending on store needs and can include:
– Completing a comprehensive range of grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and standalone services like nail trimming, teeth brushing, and sanitizing services under supervision
– Developing and showing safe technical skills aligned with the company’s minimum expectations
– Recommending additional pet health and wellness solutions based on pet requirements
– Taking care of pet parent experiences and outcomes in person, over the phone, and at the sales counter
– Welcoming pet parents, responding to their queries, and assisting them to make salon reservations
– Performing grooming appointments’ check-in and check-out procedures
Qualifications:
– Completion of PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification
– Previous grooming experience is preferred
– Proficiency in computer applications
– Ability to handle pressure
– Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
– Excellent organizational skills with detail orientation and adhering to safety measures
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
– This job requires the associate to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and perform manual tasks. Modifications may be made to support individuals with disabilities to perform vital functions.
– The associate is expected to frequently lift weights up to 50 pounds and occasionally help in lifting weights exceeding 100 pounds.
– While performing daily duties, the associate may be exposed to mechanical parts, a wet environment with an abundance of pet hair, and noise.
