Part-Time Bookkeeper for Multiple Businesses

Walden Child Care, New Brighton Child Care

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented part-time bookkeeper to manage the financial records for two daycare centres, a numbered company, and one additional business. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and experience handling multiple accounts.

Responsibilities:

Full-Cycle Bookkeeping – Managing financial records across multiple businesses
Payroll Processing – Ensuring timely and accurate payroll for employees
Accounts Payable & Receivable – Managing invoices, payments, and outstanding balances
Credit Card & Bank Reconciliations – Ensuring transactions are recorded accurately
Month-End & Year-End Reporting – Preparing financial statements and reports
Government Filings – GST remittances, payroll taxes, and compliance with financial regulations
Alberta Child Care Claims – Experience with daycare grants and claims is an asset

Qualifications:

Previous bookkeeping experience (preferably with multiple businesses)
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Knowledge of Alberta Child Care Claims is an asset but not required

Position Details:

Part-Time Role – Flexible hours based on workload
Location: Remote position with in-person meetings from time to time (candidate must be based in Calgary)
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience
