Job Summary
EDJE Sound is seeking a reliable and skilled Sound Technician to join our team for the summer season. This position plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality audio for outdoor events by handling daily setup, live sound operation, and volume management in accordance with local bylaws. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of live sound, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Responsibilities
Set up and test sound equipment at the outdoor venue each day before events begin.
Operate audio systems during live performances, ensuring clear, high-quality sound.
Monitor and maintain volume levels within the limits of municipal noise bylaws.
Collaborate with event staff and performers to meet sound requirements.
Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently during events.
Maintain, store, and organize audio equipment to ensure reliable daily performance.
Stay current with live sound techniques and best practices for outdoor environments.
Experience & Skills
Prior experience with live sound reinforcement and outdoor audio setups.
Familiarity with sound mixing consoles and audio processing gear.
Strong understanding of sound level management and noise compliance.
Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently.
Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
Ability to lift and move audio equipment as needed.
Schedule
Fridays and Saturdays, 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM, from June through September.
Outdoor venue; must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
