We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at AvantSleep in Calgary, AB. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch oxygen therapy services to our clients across Canada.

The ideal candidate will have experience in oxygen therapy and pulmonary function testing, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for delivering and exchanging equipment, conducting in-service training, and performing initial oxygen set-up for discharged clients.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver and exchange equipment, which may involve lifting up to 60lbs and long-distance travel for home visits.
• Conduct respiratory equipment in-service training with various community partners.
• Perform initial oxygen set-up for discharged clients from healthcare facilities and regular follow-up assessments for oxygen therapy.
• Conduct in-office consultations and comprehensive sleep consultations with patients, ensuring high patient interaction and support.
• Perform Pulmonary Function Testing (Spirometry, Lung Volumes, Diffusion Capacity, Methacholine Challenges, MIPs/MEPs, Oximetry and Arterial Blood Gases) with quality assessments and documentation.
• Effective communication with Physicians, administrative staff, Managers, and Directors.

Requirements:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist required.
• A Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) is an asset.
• Experience or knowledge in Oxygen Therapy is preferred; familiarity with PAP (Positive Airway Pressure) Therapy is a plus.
• G class Driver’s License required.
• Professional and friendly interpersonal skills with strong customer service values and communication skills.
• Good time management skills, ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
• Ability to multi-task, assess situations, and prioritize tasks accordingly.
• The ability to quickly learn and understand various processes in a constantly changing environment.

This is a Casual, part-time, full-time position with flexible working hours ranging from 24 to 40 hours per week, plus on-call. The starting pay is $40/hour.
