Job description
We are a leading short-term rental management company in Calgary, and we’re looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team! This is a part-time position with the potential to become full-time as we continue to grow.
Responsibilities:
• Perform general property maintenance, including wall repairs (patching & painting).
• Troubleshoot and perform basic electrical repairs (e.g., outlets, lighting, minor wiring issues).
• Mount, install, and maintain décor, curtains, televisions, and blinds.
• Conduct minor appliance repairs (e.g., coffee makers, microwaves, small appliances).
• Perform basic plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks and unclogging drains.
• Move and assemble furniture as needed.
• Maintain and troubleshoot maintenance control software—must be proactive with technology and comfortable using different software systems.
• Inspect properties regularly to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
• Ensure fire alarms and extinguishers are maintained and in working order.
• Any additional maintenance skills are a strong asset.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in maintenance and repairs (electrical troubleshooting is a must).
• Strong skills in patching, painting, and wall repairs.
• Ability to quickly learn and use maintenance management software.
• Comfortable handling basic plumbing repairs, appliance maintenance, and furniture assembly.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in tight spaces.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license and daily access to a reliable vehicle (used to transport supplies; mileage will be compensated).
• Bonus: Experience with landscaping or HVAC maintenance.
Requirements:
• Availability from 10 AM – 6 PM (some flexibility may be required).
• Fluent in English (spoken & written).
• Reliable personal vehicle for daily use (compensated for kilometers driven).
• Ability to manage tasks proactively and work efficiently without constant supervision.
• Clean driver’s abstract required
• Clean criminal background check.
