Job Title: Program Leader

The position of Program Leader requires the incumbent to have an energetic and enthusiastic approach to coaching children of various ages. In this role, you will assist the Program Coordinator by facilitating programs designed by the Mahogany Homeowners Association.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure that adequate preparation is complete before the lesson plan starts.
• Follow the schedule/timeline of the lesson plan to the best of your ability.
• Provide feedback on the program curriculum and make revisions when needed.
• Lead and assist with activities and games.
• Create teachable/coachable “lightbulb” moments for the participants.
• Adapt the lesson plan to meet the needs of the participants.
• Maintain exceptional communication pathways between managers, staff, and registrants.
• Work collaboratively with other instructors.
• Always maintain an exceptional level of professionalism.
• Provide a safe, fun, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for children.
• Complete participant and instructor evaluations at the end of each program.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
Prior background in child-related roles and a keen interest in expanding your expertise and understanding of children.
• Upon hire, completion of Mahogany HOA Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS Certification (will be provided), and opportunities to achieve other relevant certifications.
• Will be required to complete a Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search.
Working Conditions:
• Must have physical ability to lead and participate in physical sports/games, and other activities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as required.
• Interaction with children, employees, residents, and the public at large.
• Position requires extensive physical and emotional demands.
• Dress for activity: you are expected to wear athletic clothing and appropriate shoes for the activity.
• Minimum 1 hour(s) of work per shift as per coach position – will explore additional hours in future programming.
Possible teaching areas:
• Arts – Our current program is a follow the teacher program with a different focus every week with a focus on friendship development currently for 5–12-year-olds.
• Sports – A variety of sports classes for different ages from 2-13 years old. Multi-sports, soccer, ball hockey and volleyball are offered.
• Babysitting – is currently a monthly class to Mahogany residents.
• Camp – Pd day camps offered through Mahogany HOA
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 10 months
Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
