Duties Transport Canada’s Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Directorate works with national and international partners to ensure the highest level of public safety for Canadians in the transportation of dangerous goods. When dangerous goods incidents occur, we oversee emergency response to ensure it is done with the safest tactics and techniques.
Regional Remedial Measures Specialists receive continuous technical training and work with responders in the industry.
Duties include attending accident scenes, reviewing Emergency Response Assistance Plans (ERAP), assessing response capabilities of responders, participating in public outreach events, and attending and creating exercises and collaborating in TDG research projects. You will work closely with other groups within the TDG Directorate on initiatives such as regulatory updates, policy analysis and emergency preparedness and response.

The key activities of this position require frequent travel locally, regionally, and sometimes nationally. Typically, work tasks will be performed in an office/telework environment, or in various indoor, outdoor, and industrial environments. Intent of the process This is an inventory process and the immediate need is to staff one (1) permanent position in Toronto, Ontario.
