Job Description Job Description: Position: Contract Year 5 Teacher Location: Islington, London We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Year 5 Teacher to join our team in Islington. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to pupils in Year 5, ensuring that they make good progress and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: – Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that are differentiated to meet the needs of all pupils in Year 5.
– Assess and monitor pupils’ progress, providing constructive feedback and setting targets for improvement. – Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes high standards of behaviour and encourages pupils to develop a love of learning. – Work collaboratively with other members of staff to develop schemes of work and resources that are aligned with the school’s curriculum and ethos.
– Communicate effectively with parents and carers, keeping them informed of their child’s progress and any issues that may arise. Essential skills and qualifications: – Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching experience. – Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment procedures.
– Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment. – Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues. – A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to improve teaching practice.
Desirable skills: – Experience of teaching in a multicultural and diverse environment. – Knowledge of the latest teaching methods and technologies. – Experience of working with pupils with SEND or EAL needs.
