Workspace Technology Analyst

Location: Toronto Public Library – 120 Martin Ross, Toronto, ON
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time (35 hours/week)
Salary: $62,626.20 – $70,707.00 annually
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (evenings/weekends as needed)

Role Overview:

You will provide technical support and manage workplace technology such as desktops, laptops, printers, and software across TPL. The role combines hands-on hardware/software troubleshooting, deployment, vendor collaboration, and staff training to maintain efficient and productive technology environments both onsite and remotely. You’ll also contribute to ongoing improvements and documentation efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd level hardware, software, and incident support to staff, onsite and remotely, meeting SLA targets.

  • Support selection, procurement, deployment, and maintenance of IT equipment including desktops, printers, mobile devices, and conferencing systems.

  • Collaborate with Service Desk, vendors, and project teams to resolve complex technical issues.

  • Participate in hardware/software rollouts, asset management, and branch renovations.

  • Create and maintain documentation, support articles, and training materials.

  • Manage IT asset inventory, license tracking, and maintain spare hardware stock.

  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding equipment setups.

  • Travel regularly to Greater Toronto Area branches.

  • Provide excellent customer service and suggest process improvements.

  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and be on call.


Qualifications:

  • 2 years post-secondary education in IT or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years relevant IT support experience (or equivalent).

  • IT certifications (Microsoft, ITIL) are a plus.

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate technical info clearly.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting Windows, MacOS, mobile OS, Microsoft 365 Apps, collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams), AV equipment, and printers.

  • Experience with malware investigation and endpoint security.

  • Skilled with diagnostic and logging tools.

  • Vendor management and asset management experience required.

  • Able to lift and carry IT equipment.

  • Valid vehicle for GTA travel preferred.
