Sylvan Learning Centre of SW Calgary is in search of an upper-level English/Humanities tutor. This role would be ideal for an accomplished Tutor/Teacher or University graduate with excellent proficiency in the humanities. The job description would include offering homework support for small groups of students at a time.
One of the biggest contributors to our success is our tutors. It is crucial that our team of teachers provide a warm, encouraging environment with strong emphasis on skills development and mastery learning.
We offer full training in a variety of programmes (reading, math, study skills, homework support, and more.) We do our best to match a tutor’s skill set, background, and qualification with student(s) in need of equally unique support.
Programs and lesson plans are developed by our full-time staff. Sylvan tutors require little to no prep-time in order to start teaching students. Teachers are provided with an extensive variety of materials and manipulatives to use for instruction enhancement. Our dedicated and experienced full-time staff handle all communication with parents or guardians, so you get to do what you like best: teach!
The successful applicant will be competent with high school level english, be able to teach through Grade 12, and have evening and weekend availability. This role is a part-time position offering hours on a flexible and rotating basis.
