Summary
The Surveillance Operator will undertake the video surveillance of our client’s premises for the protection of their staff, visitors, and company property. You will be responsible for utilizing our technology systems in real-time, detecting any suspicious activities to prevent vandalism, theft, or other criminal behaviour.
The Surveillance Operator will be well trained at Zedcor in surveillance and dealing with perpetrators. You will inspire respect and authority, as well as possess a high level of observation.
The goal is to help the company in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping our clients’ facilities safe and problem free.
Hourly Rate: Starting at $23.00 per hour.
Schedule: This position is part-time on weekends.
Summary of tasks
• You align with Zedcor values of innovation, being a pioneer and being honest.
• Secures premises and personnel by utilizing surveillance monitoring software systems; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
• Conduct worksite inspections remotely to identify any irregularities, uphold order, and enforce regulations for the site in regard to the premises, personnel, and visitors.
• Monitor to protect the company’s assets relative to theft, tampering, vandalism, and other safety issues.
• Monitor to prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures.
• Maintains environment by monitoring and setting equipment controls.
• Adhere to all company service and operating standards.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications and skills
• Ability to utilize computer software systems at a high rate of speed.
• Fast paced visual analysis and decision making skills.
• Applies technical and professional knowledge required to perform job.
• Familiar and comfortable with computer programs and Windows operating systems.
• Computers/software requirements – will be trained by Zedcor to understand the surveillance software system and diagnose basic problems remotely.
• Ability to work on-call on a rotating basis as scheduled.
• High attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with MS Office programs (Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of VMS systems such as Genetec and Avigilon would be an asset.
