At Home Teaching
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Student Teacher to work closely with a 19 year old female who is neurodirvergent and is just returning to their high school studies after a number of years of absence due to a mental health crisis. The candidate needs to know how to work with someone on the spectrum, and be comfortable just doing the bare minimum most days.
Duties
• Provide one-on-one tuturing in grade 10 science, history, art, or french.
• Be a friend and companion.
• Willing to just sit and colour or do arts and crafts together if student is unable to engage more.
• Be available to work Monday to Friday for 4-5 hours a day between June 9 – July 2nd.
Requirements
• Background in education or teaching.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with student in a one on one setting.
• Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for teaching and learning.
• Familiarity with educational technology tools is a plus but not required.
• Be creative in ways to engage in learning using visuals and interesting resources.
• Be reliable and kind.
• Be LGBTQ+ friendly

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 weeks
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
