Rundle College Society (“Rundle”) was founded in 1985 and provides an outstanding educational experience for approximately 1,250 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Position
Rundle College is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, collaborative and flexible teacher to teach Senior High Math classes from grade 10 through to grade 12 levels. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching senior high level math courses.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide optimum learning experiences in the core curricular area of Senior High Math
• Foster classroom routines that increase and enhance engagement
• Collaborate with grade team teachers to create interdisciplinary units of study and a parallel program
• Establish a warm, nurturing, kind, caring learning environment where students feel safe, respected and valued
• Communicate effectively with staff, parents, administration and students
Be eager to support not only the academic offerings, but the co curricular offerings at Rundle
Qualifications
• Experience teaching math at the senior high level; experience teaching physics or computer science is an asset
• Must be flexible, collaborative and have a positive, growth mindset
• Ability to develop strong partnerships with teachers, parents, and administration
• Confident user of technology and able to utilize it in instructional practice
• Demonstrate an open mind and the desire to improve practice through professional reading and/or participating in relevant professional development opportunities
• Alberta Teaching Certification
• Have a police information check completed with a vulnerable sector verification within the last 6 months
As a Senior High Math Teacher, you are required to meet expectations in the three pathways for learning and within our values of Together, Be Kind, Be Curious, Be Well:
• Contribute to the academic pathway to learning at Rundle College Senior High by planning and delivering an engaging and elevated science program within Alberta Education course objectives and expected outcomes; while monitoring the progress of students through a variety of modalities.
• Contribute to the co-curricular pathway to learning at Rundle College Senior High in the area of athletics, travel, community service, and clubs.
• Contribute to the character pathway to learning at Rundle College Senior High through the Teacher Advisor (TA) program and adherence to student expectations in alignment with our values.
