Principal Product Manager Technical – SD, Amazon Advertising
About Amazon Advertising:
About our team:
Our team is responsible for building and taking this startup offering to market, with the goal of empowering over one million advertisers (vendors, sellers agencies and software solution providers) to independently plan and execute campaigns. We move quickly to release new features and capabilities, utilize innovative machine learning models and deliver billions of ad impressions across the globe every single day, all within tens of milliseconds, enabling advertisers to discover and engage shoppers throughout the purchase journey. We also work cross-functionally to evangelize our offering and educate the market on the value of our product – Sponsored Display.
About this role:
We’re looking for entrepreneurial and innovative individuals who thrive on solving tough problems. As a Principal Product Manager – Technical you will have single-threaded ownership of Sponsored Display Apps and Games Advertising Experiences. A strategically important part of this charter is to enable our advertisers to engage unique audiences across our 1P and 3P publishers, and unlock new monetization opportunities for Growth Marketers, developers and creators. You will distill the needs of a diverse user base into experiences that balance efficiency with robust utility.
The Principal Product Manager – Technical owns the roadmap and is responsible for executing on it. You set the product strategy, define use cases, analyze potential customer and financial implications, and ultimately choose the most promising path for your strategy. You drive prioritization across multiple development teams, communication with internal stakeholders, user testing with customers, the go to market plan with product marketing and the adoption plan with Sales. You are an evangelist, promoting new features to customers, defining success metrics, and accelerating adoption while simultaneously protecting and enhancing the customer experience.
The person in this role will be required to think big, dive deep, have a strong bias for action, and bring a history of delivering results to Amazon’s advertising solutions. You will leverage data and industry experience to make informed decisions and can advise and lead development teams / stakeholders who don’t have the same business context or customer perspective. It is a highly cross-functional role, engaging directly with customers of all sizes, fellow product managers and engineers across multiple development teams. Customer input and industry research are critical aspects to the role and will require working directly with external customers to collect input, mold requirements, and release features. You will be expected to have strong opinions about design and user experience, as well as the analytic background necessary to track adoption and performance of your program.
Open to hire in NY, Toronto, London or Los Angeles.
Here are some things that we’d prefer to see, though none is independently a requirement: – Passionate about generating big, creative ideas to differentiate in the market, growing the business and working with advertisers and agencies to build innovative products
– Ability to lead and influence across different organizations and align diverse teams to a common goal
– Handle multiple contending priorities in an energizing environment
– Strong sense of collaboration, ownership, urgency, and drive
– Willing to think and act both strategically and tactically
– MBA Degree
