Key Duties
-
Perform manual gardening and maintenance tasks within park areas.

Operate various groundskeeping machinery and grass cutting equipment.

Maintain park turf by mowing, trimming, fertilizing, litter removal, and managing irrigation systems.

Clean and perform minor repairs on park washrooms and facilities, including benches, playing fields, and ice rinks.

Set up equipment such as chairs, benches, and sports posts.
-
Keep park walkways and entrances clear, including snow removal during winter.

Assist in caring for horticultural beds and shrubs.

Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
Experience in grounds maintenance or horticulture, preferably within a park environment.

Skilled in using grounds maintenance and grass-cutting machinery.
-
Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License and ability to meet City equipment operation requirements.

Ability to supervise or provide guidance to others.

Follow verbal and written instructions accurately.

Communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.

Maintain a courteous and professional attitude when interacting with the public and colleagues.

Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations.

Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when necessary.

Physically capable of performing all duties in various weather conditions.
