The Role of Team Leader

The Team Leader plays a crucial role in coordinating and supervising Maintenance activities to ensure aircraft meet operational requirements and adhere to Transport Canada and Air Canada standards of airworthiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and supervise Maintenance activities to provide aircraft that meet operational requirements and standards.
• Manage, plan, and control aircraft Maintenance operations.
• Manage resources to meet workload and schedule commitments.
• Monitor Air-to-Ground VHF communication.
• Discuss delays, incidents, and issues with departments in the Station Operations Control Centre (STOC).
• Record delays, incidents, accidents, and maintenance messages in the required system.
• Consult with Maintenance Operations Control, System Operation Control, Operations Managers, and Hangar Team Leaders about incoming snags and faults.
• Coordinate messages from other departments in STOC.
• Communicate with Flight Operations at departure gates regarding aircraft serviceability.
• Coordinate with ramp maintenance staff.
• Order parts for operational needs.

Requirements:

• A valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license or equivalent.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a facilitator within a team.
• Willingness to work shifts.
• Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) & Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Technical knowledge of processes, procedures, and IT systems related to the work area.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under stress.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Understanding of Line Maintenance aircraft check procedures is an asset.
• Proficiency with PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is an asset.
