Job Duties

1. To provide instruction and to facilitate interactive practical experiences for students in the Early Childhood Education diploma program.
2. Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using appropriate instructional methodologies in support of a blended learning experience.
3. Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students on the required learning platform (Bright Space).
4. Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
5. Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment.
6. Maintain and up-date curriculum materials.
7. Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment.
8. Engage in professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
9. Develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, and as required, set up and supervise students in a practical work placement.
10. Follow policies and procedures adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
11. Attend program and school meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

1.Recognized relevant four-year degree (Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Child and Youth Studies, Bachelor’s in Child Development).
2. Two years’ recent and relevant experience working in an Early Learning and Childcare Education setting as an Early Childhood Educator/Teacher/ECE Instructor.
3. Effective interpersonal skills.
4. Effective communication skills (both oral and written).
5. Effective instructional ability.
6. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
7. Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
8. Demonstrates Valuing Diversity.
