Job Description:

Curate Health is looking for a passionate, creative, and customer-focused Barista/Health Food Chef and Receptionist to join our vibrant, interdisciplinary team at our new clinic, opening in Fall 2024 in Toronto. We are a modern wellness clinic dedicated to promoting healthy living by offering a holistic range of services, including a health food bar that complements our medical, wellness, fitness, and therapeutic services. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutrient-rich food and beverages, crafting new menu items, and delivering outstanding customer service in line with our mission to inspire health-conscious living.

Responsibilities:

• Provide friendly, courteous, and educational customer service, helping customers understand the health benefits of our menu offerings and products.
• Prepare, cook, and serve all food and drink items on the menu, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
• Monitor food presentation and quality, ensuring consistency across all dishes served.
• Create new, health-focused seasonal menu items that are both tasty and nutritious, in alignment with our wellness mission.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and serving areas, maintaining strict hygiene and sanitizing protocols to meet Health and Safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve sales goals and uphold our brand’s reputation for excellence.
• Take ownership of operational tasks such as inventory management, minimizing food waste, and responsible cash handling.
• Build a healthy rapport with customers, striving to gain customer and brand loyalty.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest health food trends and products to help continuously elevate the customer experience.
• Contribute to visual merchandising and maintaining an inviting environment.
• Administrative tasks as a receptionist for the health clinic, including appointment scheduling, phone calls, collecting payments, billing insurance companies, patient flow management, janitorial and organizing duties and other administrative duties

Skills & Qualifications:

• A passion for natural health and wellness.
• Creative and driven to develop new culinary arts with health-focused recipes and menu development.
• Excellent customer service skills with a customer-centric mindset.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment.
• Team-oriented, with a positive attitude and the ability to adapt in a dynamic setting.
• Ability to maintain high hygiene standards and adhere to all Health and Safety protocols.
• Experience in a kitchen, health food café, juice bar or barista role preferred, with proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and handling regulations and best practices.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new computer software and efficiently handle administrative tasks.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods, perform manual tasks like cleaning, lifting boxes up to 50 lbs, and maintaining store upkeep.
• Ability to perform basic kitchen duties, including food prep, cooking, and cleaning.
