Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company. We are focused on long-term growth through an active exploration, development, production, and acquisition program in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
We are currently looking for an Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) Administrator to join our Calgary office.
As Canada’s largest producer of natural gas and the third-largest producer of conventional liquids—including oil, condensate, and other natural gas liquids—Tourmaline is committed to the continuous improvement of its internal accounting and financial reporting processes. The AFE Administrator plays a critical role in this effort, collaborating with the Capital Accounting team and other finance groups to drive process optimization and support the execution of key accounting and financial activities.
• Review AFEs to ensure compliance with organizational standards and controls
• Assist with AFE Maintenance in Microsoft D365
• Close/Re-open AFE’s as requested following proper procedure
• Assist with creation of Non-Op AFEs
• Assist joint venture accountants in resolving disputes related to AFEs
• Work collaboratively with other departments to solve AFE related issues
• Help to improve and find efficiencies in existing procedures and practices
• Provide training to AFE creators
• Create and maintain process and training documentation
• Ad-hoc duties and backup support for other coworkers during vacation leave or absences
Description of Candidate:
• Minimum 3-5 years of operational and/or capital accounting related experience is required
• Oil and Gas accounting experience related to: Drilling, Completions or Facilities is required
• Business Administration Degree/Diploma
• Positive attitude, clear communicator, willingness to learn, and a passion to develop quality processes
• Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work individually and in a team setting
• Strong work ethic and ability to take pride and ownership of work
• An appreciation for tight deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized
• Ability to think on feet and adapt to situations
• Experience with Microsoft D365, Open Invoice an asset not required
• Proficient with Microsoft products
