Role Overview
Reporting to the Director of Community Relations (Ontario), the Advisor, Community Relations (Toronto) supports the execution of stakeholder and consultation plans to advance the Project’s development. This role focuses on maintaining strong relations with local stakeholders, interest groups, and individuals impacted by the project.
You will provide strategic advice on emerging issues and opportunities, support consultation efforts, document stakeholder feedback, and occasionally represent the project at local events and expert working groups.
Key Responsibilities

Provide management with strategic advice regarding stakeholder issues and project opportunities

Build and maintain ongoing communication with regional stakeholders and citizen groups

Support project participation at regional events and consultations

Collaborate with Media Relations and Internal Communications to develop and revise communication tools

Coordinate with external consultants to organize consultation logistics
-
Document consultation activities and stakeholder feedback rigorously in Borealis database
-
Follow up internally on raised issues and support feedback sessions with stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in communications, administration, environment, or related field
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience in communications, community relations, or related fields
-
Proven ability to build networks with internal and external stakeholders, including rightsholders
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including briefing senior executives
-
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to synthesize complex information
-
Calm and professional in high-pressure or potentially hostile situations
-
Skilled in managing shifting priorities and deadlines in dynamic environments
-
Knowledge of municipal political and administrative structures in Ontario
-
Strong ethics and integrity
-
Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
-
Proficient with Microsoft Office and other technological tools
-
Knowledge of public transit, rail transportation, and linear infrastructure projects is a plus
-
Flexible work hours and frequent travel required
